ABOUT ME
Hey, It’s Drew
I’ve been teaching guitar professionally for 20 years. Playing and teaching music is my passion and I love helping guitarists of all skill levels pursue and achieve their goals. Over the years I’ve been able to study with some of the top guitar players in rock, metal and jazz fusion and I bring that knowledge and experience to each lesson. Regardless of your playing style or skill level, I’m dedicated to bringing you the most cutting edge skill building tools so that you can play the way you want to on the instrument. I’m also here to help you build out a practice routine that works with your life and schedule and hold you accountable to it! Don’t hesitate to reach out about lessons or tell me what your goals are.

Visit My Webstore
In addition to one on one guitar lessons, my webstore offers resources to help you improve your guitar playing and tone. For the self-starter guitarists, I currently have a video course available called “How to Practice Scales.” It’s a complete guide to apply all types of scales to the guitar and how to practice and eventually master scales on the guitar.
I also have a range of downloadable presets for the Yamaha THR, Tone X, and Line 6 Helix digital guitar platforms. My goal is to make learning and tone-building easier, whether you’re a beginner or a pro.
What My Students Say

If I could give a rating for Drew higher than a 5 star I would. My 13 year old grandson met Drew two years ago. Drew was teaching music at the Webb School, until this past May. Drew introduced the guitar, among other instruments to him. Camden fell in love with the guitar. Drew helped Camden find the genre of music he enjoys the most. Drew introduced Camden to several different genres. Drews knowledge of music and instruments are very extensive. We trust Drew’s judgement so much we sought his advice on the selection of a guitar for Camden. One that would last several years. Camden began lesson’s January of 2022, and is still taking lessons. Drew is very patient, caring and is a wonderful instructor to work with. We feel Camden has excelled in playing guitar under Drew’s guidance. I would highly recommend Drew as a music tutor.

Drew is an amazing guitar teacher as well as mixer and producer. Not only did I have immaculate experiences with guitar lessons but also with the production of my personal EP. Drew is very kind and easy to work with as well as able to explain harder concepts in a way for anyone to understand. If you’re looking for a musical genius to help you in musical feats i’d without a doubt recommend Drew Creal.

Drew is the man! I've had the honor of playing in a band with Drew, and I can tell you from first-hand experience his knowledge and skill on the guitar is second to none. As a teacher, he is incredibly thorough and will work extensively with you to reach whatever goals you have with your playing. I have been taking lessons with Drew for a few years now and he has introduced me to entirely different ways of thinking about the guitar than I have ever considered before. I would highly recommend Drew to anyone looking to improve their skills on the guitar in any style of music!

I realized that in order to improve, I had to have some accountability. Thankfully, Drew has kept me accountable to practicing and applying new ideas, not just playing what I’m comfortable with. If you are looking for someone to help you, I’d highly recommend him.

I have been taking weekly private lessons with Drew for about 2 years now and I have greatly enjoyed them. I feel like my playing has been improved exponentially in this time. Drew makes sure to cover a wide variety of topics and exercises to make for a more complete guitar player. I’ve also appreciated our conversations and his insight on related topics such as gear, recording, etc. He always encourages communication in between lessons which are helpful to make the daily practices in between lessons more useful.

FAQ
Common Questions
Below are some common questions I get as a guitar teacher with my answers to them.
-
Simply fill out the form completely below on the website and I will reach out to you within 1-3 business days. The more information you tell me in the form the better, so go into detail about your goals and what you hope to get out of lessons. From there I’ll have you sign a lesson agreement via email and you will pay for your first lesson or one month worth of lessons. I strongly encourage students to take weekly lessons. This is the proven method for seeing the best results in your guitar playing and tracking improvement over time. Alternatively, you can instantly sign up for a lesson time (above) using my Acuity Scheduling link.
-
If you’re the type of player that just wants a quick alternate perspective on guitar playing and teaching, use the Acuity Scheduling link above and sign up for a 30 minute or 1 hour lesson time. I’ll do my best to jam pack your one off lesson with as much information as I can and get you the intel that you’re looking for. I still strongly encourage weekly lessons, but I understand that some guitarists aren’t interested in that. Take a look at the courses in my webstore as well.
-
Unfortunately at this time I’m not able to offer any free lessons. If you’re interested in getting to know me a little better, take a look at my YouTube channel, I have hundreds of videos. If you’re not sure about diving into weekly lessons, I recommend booking a 30 minute video call via my acuity scheduling link above.
-
If you have a scheduling conflict or can’t make it to a lesson for any reason, I require that you notify me via email at least 24 hours in advance. Most of the time I am easily able to find a new lesson time for you during the week, but if this becomes a regular occurrence, I’ll exercise my discretion and deny your request to reschedule. If you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled lesson, I will not be able to make up the lesson. I ask that students respect my time just as I respect yours. We will both agree to this policy in the lesson agreement upon signing up.

Writing, recording and producing music is at the center of what I do. Click the “Music” tab at the header of the site and you can see the albums that I’ve recorded. I also post a range of videos on my YouTube channel and I’m always dropping original content and playthrough videos there if you’d like a sample of my guitar playing and music.
