I’m passionate about teaching guitar and helping students reach their full potential with the instrument.
My Background
I started playing guitar in 2003 and quickly gravitated towards hard rock and heavy metal. I was attracted to a lot of progressive metal bands like Dream Theater, Planet X and Symphony X. I began developing the chops required to play technical and virtuosic music in high school and went on to study guitar first with Fareed Haque at Northern Illinois University and then Shane Roberts when I moved to Nashville in 2012. I was able to play guitar in touring metal bands Skies and As Hell Retreats and played in several Nashville rock bands including Muir, Pocket Science and Kinhin.
In 2018, I became the high school guitar teacher and middle school general music teacher at The Webb School in Bell Buckle, TN. In the classroom I was able to foster a fun and exciting environment and work with students between the ages of 12 and 18. I started the first ever rock band program at Webb and my students played incredible concerts for the school community.
Currently I’m teaching guitar privately in Clarksville, TN both in person and online as well as running my YouTube channel, where I regularly release a wide variety of guitar content. If I could give a rating for Drew higher than a 5 star I would. My 13 year old grandson met Drew two years ago. Drew was teaching music at the Webb School, until this past May. Drew introduced the guitar, among other instruments to him. Camden fell in love with the guitar. Drew helped Camden find the genre of music he enjoys the most. Drew introduced Camden to several different genres. Drews knowledge of music and instruments are very extensive.
